Shedhorn Skimo Events

Choose from one of three courses, with difficulty ranging from skimo first-timer-friendly to one of the most challenging races in the country.

  • Skimo racer in front of Lone Peak

    Shedhorn

    Summiting Lone Peak twice and descending the classic Big Couloir, this route's ups and downs are sure to test even the most advanced athletes.

    • 16 miles
    • 8,000 vertical feet
    • Four alpine climbs
    • Four 45-degree+ descents
  • Shedhorn Skimo racers

    Pronghorn

    Climbing to the top of Lone Peak, descending the Big Couloir, and then up and over the Headwaters Ridge, this shortened version of the Shedhorn is still a test of mountaineering feats.

    • 4,500 vertical feet
    • Two alpine climbs
    • Two 45-degree+ descents
  • Shedhorn Skimo racer

    Ramshorn

    The Ramshorn route is a great way to test the waters of Skimo. This route incorporates a skin track, a bootpack, and a triple-black diamond descent.
